Banana Chocolate Flapjack

These delicious bite-sized flapjack bars offer a healthier alternative to traditional chocolate bars. They have reduced levels of saturated fat and are packed with protein and fiber. These delectable treats are ideal for enjoying during elevenses, as a guilt-free dessert, or as a convenient snack while on the move.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Ripe Bananans
  • 250 Gram Oats
  • 70 Gram Oat Flour (Oats Blended)
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cocoa Powder
  • 70 Gram Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Instructions
 

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C with the fan setting. Take a large baking bowl and peel the bananas. Mash them thoroughly using a fork. Next, add in the oats, 70 Gram Oat Flour, 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder , peanut butter, 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup, and 50g of chocolate chips. Mix everything together well until fully combined.
  • Line a small baking tray with parchment paper and transfer the mixture into it. Spread the mixture evenly in the tray. Sprinkle the remaining 20g of dark chocolate chips over the top of the mixture.
  • Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25 minutes. Keep an eye on them and remove them from the oven once they turn golden brown. Allow the flapjacks to cool in the tray for about 10 minutes. This cooling period outside the tray will help them firm up and make it easier to slice them into 8 bar shapes.
